Expert commentary

A classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc bursting with pungent passion fruit, gooseberry, and lime leaf notes. The palate is razor-sharp with mouth-watering acidity, a succulent mid-palate, and an energetic, thirst-quenching finish.

Serving and ageing guide

This wine is ideal to drink now and is not suitable for further ageing. Its hallmark appeal resides in its explosive, unevolved primary fruit and crisp tension, both of which will fade rather than improve over time. For optimal enjoyment, serve chilled at 7–10°C straight from the bottle without decanting, and consume within the next 1 to 2 years. It pairs naturally with fresh goat's cheese, shucked oysters, green asparagus tart, or citrus-marinated ceviche. The wine achieves a very good quality rating supported by brilliant balance, long finish, and pronounced intensity. Both aroma intensity on the nose and flavour intensity on the palate are high, showing complete agreement in their bold delivery of passion fruit, lime juice, and crunchy greenery. While it displays textbook varietal purity and buoyant refreshment, it lacks the secondary texture and tertiary nuance required for an outstanding rating.
