Who publishes Maison Media?
Atlas Associates publishes Maison Media as part of Maison Apéro, its wine community and communication app. Articles carry the byline Maison Media Editorial.
You can read Maison Media without an account.
What does Maison Media cover?
Maison Media is built on the knowledge required in studies such as WSET Level 3, WSET Diploma and Master of Wine. Our managing editor created a study service for their own study and built many checks into it, such as assessment items and fact-checking items. Our managing editor reviews the results, and this eight-language wine publication is generated automatically by AI from the feedback on their own answers. Its publisher, Atlas Associates, is an AI startup chosen from hundreds of applicants as one of 23 startups (in the cybersecurity category) for the first AI Academy that Google for Startups ran in Asia-Pacific, in 2024, and it has completed the programme. What Maison Media covers will keep growing.
WSET, Master of Wine and other such names belong to their respective organisations. Maison Media has no connection with these organisations and is not official study material.
- Wines: a page for each wine evaluated in Maison Apéro, with its producer, region and grapes. A wine that nobody has evaluated yet does not appear.
- Articles: explanations of regions, grapes, climate, soils and winemaking, with sources, figures and answers to common questions.
- World wine news: every Monday at 09:00 Japan time, the biggest stories of the previous two weeks, with their sources.
- Biodynamic calendar: a moon-sign guide for tasting and cellar planning, based on the Moon’s position at noon. It is not the official Maria Thun calendar, and its effects on the taste of wine are not scientifically established.
- Written practice: a self-study guide to explaining wine styles. It is Maison Media’s own material, not the official material of any examination or qualification body.
How are articles researched?
Every article lists its sources at the top and again at the end. Where they exist, we use primary and official sources: appellation regulators, governments and the EU, producer associations, producers and scientific papers.
We state a fact only when a source, an official rule or published figure, or well-established knowledge supports it. We do not state anything as fact on the strength of guesswork, hearsay or AI-generated text alone, and we say so when something is uncertain.
Numbers keep the units and wording of their source, and every number drawn in a figure is tied to a source.
Each source is recorded with the date it was checked; the guides to regions, grapes and producers show that date next to the source.
In the weekly news, each item is a short summary in our own words, with links to its sources, the date it was reported and the date it was checked. We do not copy whole reports or news photographs.
How are the wine reviews made?
Each wine page shows the review saved in Maison Apéro for that wine and vintage: an overview, a structured tasting profile, expert commentary and a serving and ageing guide.
Reviews are created by Maison Apéro’s proprietary AI from wine information and analytical signals, and go through a multi-stage validation process. Maison Media does not write a separate review or score: the page shows the saved review as it is, and anything that was not recorded is shown as “Not measured” rather than estimated.
A review is reference information, not a definitive assessment. Aromas, flavours and condition vary with the bottle, storage, service and the person tasting.
The “Most discovered” count shows how often a wine has been found in Maison Apéro. It is not a rating.
What can members read?
Everyone can read the overview, the structured tasting profile, the expert commentary, the serving and ageing guide, and the appearance section of each tasting review example.
The nose, palate, quality and readiness sections are for Réserve and Grand members, and the advanced analysis is for Grand members. To read them, sign in with the Google or Apple account you use in Maison Apéro. New accounts and plan changes are handled in the Maison Apéro app.
Members’ text is not part of the public pages; it is loaded only after you sign in with an eligible plan.
Where do the images come from?
The pictures in articles are made by Maison Apéro. Generated images carry an AI label and the credit “Maison Apéro (generated image)”.
World wine news images are also generated images made by Maison Apéro, credited “Image: Maison Apéro (generated image) · Maison Apéro original”, and photographs from news reports are not reproduced.
Illustrations are drawn by Maison Apéro from the sources cited in the article and are not AI-generated. Charts and diagrams are drawn from sourced data and carry no AI label.
We publish an image only when its origin, credit and licence are known.
Pictures and figures in articles carry a small cat sommelier, the Maison Apéro mark. It identifies the publisher; it is not an AI label.
Are there advertisements or affiliate links?
Advertising, sponsorship and affiliate links are kept visually and structurally separate from reviews. Sponsored stories are labelled as sponsored, and news items are never sponsored.
Where a page links to a retailer such as Amazon, it discloses that we earn from qualifying purchases. Maison Media does not copy prices or stock levels from retailers; check them with the retailer before buying.
How do I report an error?
