Expert commentary

Pear, yellow apple, and lemon fruit aromas harmonize with barrel-derived toast, vanilla, and lees-derived brioche notes. High alcohol and a weighty body are precisely supported by crisp acidity from the cool Sonoma Coast, leading to a long finish.

Serving and ageing guide

This wine is ready to drink but has potential for further aging. Rich fruit flavors and oak nuances can be enjoyed presently, but due to solid acidity and concentration, it possesses the potential to develop complex notes of nuts and honey with another 3 to 5 years of aging. The optimal serving temperature is 10-12°C. Decanting is unnecessary, but allowing it to breathe in a large glass opens up the rich aromas even further. It pairs wonderfully with roast chicken, butter-sautéed scallops, and creamy crustacean dishes. Quality is assessed as very good. Both aroma and flavor intensity are medium-plus and beautifully balanced, maintaining a superb harmony among ripe fruit volume, oak toastiness, and crisp acidity from a cool region. It also features a long finish with complex, persistent flavors, reflecting high craftsmanship and terroir.
