Expert commentary

The appearance is a deep, profound ruby. Both the aroma intensity and flavour intensity are very powerful, combining ripe black fruits, spices, oak-derived mocha, and complex tertiary nuances of truffle. High alcohol and abundant tannin are supported by a fine-penned acidity, leading to a finish of extraordinary length.

Serving and ageing guide

The quality is outstanding. The overwhelming intensity in the nose and on the palate is completely consistent, with layers of ripe black fruits, sweet spices, and complex truffles and cocoa blending seamlessly. High alcohol and rich tannin are reined in by high-quality acidity, achieving a flawless structural balance and an exceptional finish length. It is currently drinking now, but has potential for ageing. It combines youthful energy with primary and early secondary maturation complexities, but further bottle ageing is ideal for it to reveal its true worth. It possesses a grand framework capable of withstanding ageing for over 30 years. Serving temperature of 16-18°C is appropriate, and decanting two hours prior to drinking is recommended. The dish harmonizes perfectly with special beef tenderloin with truffle sauce, or roasted pigeon and game meats.
