Rondinella

Rondinella appears in both the Valpolicella and the Amarone on this site, each time alongside Corvina.

The background that matters

Rondinella is a black grape variety entered in Italy’s national register of vine varieties, and the Valpolicella rules require it at 5–30% of the blend. It is very resistant to bad weather and disease, contributing colour and flavour.

Read it alongside this wine

Bertani Valpolicella 2024 lists Corvina Veronese and Rondinella; Zonin Amarone della Valpolicella 2022 adds Molinara. Capped at 30%, Rondinella is a minority share in both, so neither review describes it on its own.

Try it with the review

Rondinella is linked to colour, so read both appearance notes; the Zonin profile records deep ruby. Before connecting any difference to Rondinella, list what else separates the two wines.
