The background that matters
Corvina brings structure, aroma and softness, and the same native varieties are used for Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto. For Amarone, Corvina grapes are dried after harvest, which concentrates compounds in the berry before fermentation.
Read it alongside this wine
Zonin Amarone della Valpolicella 2022 lists Corvina with Rondinella and Molinara, so its review describes the blend, not Corvina alone. Its structured profile records a dry wine with high alcohol, full body, medium acidity and medium(+) tannin, and lists dried / cooked fruit alongside red fruit, black fruit, spice and oak.
Try it with the review
Compare it with the Bertani Valpolicella 2024 review, listed under Corvina Veronese, the same variety. Which differences might relate to drying the grapes rather than to Corvina itself, and which to producer or vintage?
