Grapes

Graciano

Graciano appears on this site in a single wine, Cune Gran Reserva 2017, where it makes up a tenth of the blend.

The background that matters

On this site, Graciano comes from Rioja, whose vineyards line the upper Ebro valley for almost 100 km, from Haro in the west to Alfaro in the east. A grape list names the varieties in a wine but not how much of each it contains; for that you need the producer’s technical sheet.

Read it alongside this wine

Cune Gran Reserva 2017 is 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo from the Torremontalbo vineyard, aged 24 months in American and French oak. Graciano is thus the second-largest component, yet nine-tenths of the wine comes from other grapes.

Try it with the review

Before reading the review, write down one thing you would expect Graciano to add. Then read the review and mark whether it supports that expectation, contradicts it or cannot test it, given the other 90% of the blend and two years in oak.
